Hong Kong Cultural Centre celebrating its 35th Anniversary
Inaugurated on 8 November 1989, the Hong Kong Cultural Centre (HKCC) is celebrating its 35th anniversary. For over three decades, the HKCC has been playing a significant role in fostering cultural exchange between East and West and promoting arts and cultural development of Hong Kong. As a world-class performing arts venue, it has provided the platform, supported with top-quality facilities and services, for staging a dazzling array of magnificent performances by outstanding international artists and their local counterparts. In addition, it has served as a cradle to nurture budding artists, facilitating them to showcase their original creations. The HKCC has also been the main stage of numerous City’s landmark events, witnessing the important historic moments of Hong Kong.

Riding on the success of the inaugural Chinese Culture Festival this year, the HKCC takes on an ambitious mission of strengthening Hong Kong’s unique cultural heritage as an East-meets-West centre. It will not only continue to perform as a “cultural ambassador” showcasing the charm of Chinese arts and culture to the world, but also actively connect both top-notch and emerging artists and arts groups from the Mainland and overseas to encourage cross-regional collaboration, inspire boundless creativity, and offer audiences diversified, innovative and inspirational experiences in performing arts.

Let’s Celebrate and Everyone’s Invited!
To celebrate the 35th anniversary of the HKCC with extra vibrancy, we are delighted to offer over 40 programmes in eight months from this May to December which include performing arts events and a thematic exhibition by accomplished visiting artists from around the world, our four venue partners, namely the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra, the Hong Kong Ballet and Zuni Icosahedron, as well as local arts groups. The sheer creativity and richness of these commemorative programmes has well demonstrated our aspiration for a good diversity of arts and dedication in exploring limitless possibilities of artistic creation.
