KMP Artists Tour in Oct – Nov 2024

KMP Artists continues to produce and tour extraordinary performing arts across Asia Pacific and the Americas. In late October and November 2024, the company will take 10 Time Grammy Winner Janis Siegel and the Cleo Parker Robinson Dance Ensemble (CPRDE) with Firebird from the United States to festivals in Mexico.

Janis Siegel

Janis Siegel will perform with Requinte Trio, sharing the fusion of American Jazz and Brazilian music, forming a “creative combustion” of music. Requinte is fusing the talents and musical colors of American and Brazilian artists through our common love of lyrical melodies and delicious grooves; creating sensual music with a broad range of influences – a musical “cocktail”.   Over the past five decades, the voice of Janis Siegel, a ten-time Grammy winner and eighteen-time Grammy nominee, has been an undeniable force in The Manhattan Transfer’s diverse musical catalog. Alongside her career as a founding member of this musical institution, Siegel has also sustained a solo career that has spawned almost a dozen finely-crafted solo albums and numerous collaborative projects, amassed a large international fan base and garnered consistently high critical praise.

Cleo Parker Robinson Dance (CPRD) is a cultural ambassador, infusing vitality, innovation and education into every community we touch — around the corner and around the globe.

Every action we perform is done with the intent to transform ourselves and others; to give a voice to the voiceless; to leave a lasting legacy of excellence and understanding.”

Unlike traditional versions of this magical ballet which are usually staged in Slavic settings, Cleo Parker Robinson’s lush and innovative interpretation is set in the Hawaiian Islands, with the Firebird being an incarnation of Pele, the Goddess of the Volcano. Historical figures from Hawaiian history – including King Kamehameha and Queen Lili’uokalani – appear as characters in the piece, along with many of the traditional gods and goddesses of Hawaiian culture.
