WestK x HKRep x HSBC Life present The Impossible Trial – a musical 2025 tour concludes triumphantly with 53 performances

The Impossible Trial – a musical, the first original Cantonese musical commissioned by West Kowloon Cultural District Authority (WestK), co-presented and co-produced with Hong Kong Repertory Theatre, embarked on a nearly three-month tour across Shanghai, Beijing and Hong Kong starting 17 Jun. The 2025 tour ended on a high note on 10 Sep with its final performance at WestK’s Xiqu Centre in Hong Kong.  

Across the three legs, the musical delivered a total of 53 performances, drawing close to 65,000 audiences and receiving nationwide recognition from audiences and industry professionals alike. Returning home to conclude its 2025 tour, the 30 performances were sold out swiftly and attended by nearly 29,000 audiences, of which Mainland audience accounted for over 30% of the Hong Kong-leg audience. Notably, for the 10 additional shows added to the Hong Kong leg following the Mainland tour, nearly 80% of the audience were from the Mainland, affirming The Impossible Trial – a musical as a beloved production across the country. The original merchandise series was equally popular among fans, notably the limited-edition green vinyl featuring highlights from the 2023 Hong Kong rerun, which sold out rapidly.  

A closing reception celebrating the successful conclusion of both the musical’s 2025 tour and third Hong Kong run was hosted on 10 Sept at the Xiqu Centre. The cocktail reception was attended by over 100 distinguished guests. Following the reception, guests joined the audience to enjoy a captivating performance of The Impossible Trial – a musical.
