Leading Weiwuying into a Bold New Chapter

Following the April reorganisation of the National Performing Arts Center (NPAC) board, CHIEN Wen-pin has been officially reappointed as General and Artistic Director of Weiwuying. As the venue’s driving force since its opening, CHIEN has masterfully blended a prestigious international musical background with a deeply rooted local vision. In his next term, he will continue to champion Weiwuying’s core ethos as an “arts centre for everyone”, steering a grand blueprint that connects local sentiment with global artistic excellence.

Looking ahead, CHIEN aims to further solidify Weiwuying’s strategic position as a premier performing arts hub in the region. The centre will continue to bring world-class international performances to Taiwan while deepening its commitment to cultivating homegrown talent and expanding grassroots arts education. Through robust operations and cross-disciplinary resource integration, Weiwuying will serve as a permanent cultural bridge, offering Taiwanese artists a powerful launching pad to the global stage and ensuring the sustainable growth of southern Taiwan’s cultural industry.
