New team leads Geelong Performing Arts Centre into the future
Alongside exciting bricks and mortar redevelopment, Geelong Performing Arts Centre is building a dynamic new senior management team to steer the organisation into the new era.

Chief Executive Officer Joel McGuinness has recently announced several new senior appointments, bringing a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to the centre. These include the following new Directors:
Kate Brereton has joined the centre as Director Development and Marketing after more than five years at Museum Victoria in senior management marketing roles. Kate has worked across the Museum’s ‘family of brands’ and on multiple international exhibition marketing campaigns, audience development and community engagement.
Brad Rush has relocated from Adelaide to take up the role of Executive Producer Programming and Creative Industries. Brad has worked as a Consultant for Country Arts SA and in a leadership role with the Adelaide Fringe Festival. Previously he was Programming Director for The Arts Centre Gold Coast for more than six years.
The centre’s new Director Production Operations is Shaun Woodhouse, who comes to the role after 12 years at ACMI in Melbourne working in facilities management and several years as Head of Technical Services. Shaun has held senior positions for the Australian Grand Prix and Australian Commonwealth Games, and is a qualified electrical engineer and lighting designer.
Ahmer Jalil has been appointed Director Corporate Services after six years at the centre as Financial Accountant then Finance & Administration Manager. Ahmer started his career as an auditor at Ernst & Young then worked in financial management, reporting and compliance roles in UAE before moving to Australia in 2013.
Another recent senior appointment includes Garry Snowdon as Redevelopment Manager. Garry brings to the role his extensive experience in the performing arts and entertainment industry as a venue manager and project manager. He has worked across both government and private sectors in Perth and Melbourne, initiating and managing major capital works projects. Garry will be responsible for overseeing the centre’s stage 3 redevelopment that will rebuild much of the existing Little Malop building, following on from the current redevelopment of the centre’s Ryrie Street entry.
