Upcoming Tours Presented by Latitude 45 Arts
Latitude 45 Arts, a Montreal, Canada-based arts management agency, is thrilled to announce our artists’ upcoming tours in the Asia-Pacific region.
Video Phase is a collaboration between two percussionist-innovators, presenting an immersive visual and aural experience that melds live music with real-time responsive technology. A feast for the eyes as well as the ears, Video Phase has performed throughout Canada, the United States, Korea, China, and the Netherlands.
Video Phase is recently back from performances at Shanghai’s Xintiandi Festival this June, as well as in Seoul at the 26th Assitej International Summer Festival. They will be returning to Shanghai for the Ping Pong Festival from 30 Sep to 4 Oct, and presenting a pitch at PAMS in Seoul in October and in Hong Kong this December – Video Phase is becoming a fan favourite in the region! Improvising piano genius Jean-Michel Pilc will be touring in Shanghai in early November 2019. A jazz musician who goes far beyond the traditional parameters of the genre, Jean-Michel holds the audience in the palm of his lightning-fast hands with his captivating performances. Look for him in China again in May 2020 – availability still open for both periods!
Looking ahead, collectif9 will be in the Asia-Pacific region from 18 Oct to 1 Nov 2020. An astonishing international success with past tours in China, Korea, Norway, France, London’s Barbican centre, Canada, and the United States, collectif9 performs classical repertoire with an appealing and unique modern vibe. Using lighting and amplification more typical of rock concerts and original arrangements for 9 musicians, collectif9 brings new life to classical favorites.

Tambuco Percussion Ensemble will be touring Japan in November 2020, with wide availability for further activities. This dynamic ensemble has been touring for decades, as a quartet and as featured soloists with orchestras, including a tour of the great concert halls of Europe with the Jalisco Philharmonic Orchestra. This October, they will premiere a concerto written for them by Mexican composer Gabriela Ortiz with the Los Angeles Philharmonic under the baton of Gustavo Dudamel.

Corey Hamm, pianist, recently toured throughout China and Thailand in a series of solo recitals in November 2018. He will return to the region with his duo, PEP: Piano and Erhu Project in October-November 2020. PEP is not to be missed, uniting virtuosic piano playing with the vocal and singing Erhu. PEP has commissioned an entire body of works for the duo, creating an entirely new repertoire.

Several Latitude 45 Artists are recently back from successful tours in the Asia-Pacific region: Pianist Eve Egoyan toured Australia in four concerts featuring her innovative concert programme SOLO FOR DUET, in Canberra, Perth, and Melbourne. Eve uses the Disklavier, a digitally integrated concert piano, to unite visuals and piano performance into an entirely new concert experience. Socalled (aka Josh Dolgin), dubbed “the mad wizard of Yiddish Hip-Hop”, took his show Socalled Sings Yiddish with Strings to the Adelaide Cabaret festival, where he collaborated with the Zephyr String Quartet in a critically acclaimed performance. Santur virtuoso Amir Amiri visited Hong Kong with one of his ensembles this past January, where they performed traditional and contemporary Persian compositions with a whirling dervish dancer.
We are very proud of all of these successful tours and hope to have the artists back in the region soon!
