World-renowned choreographer, dancer and director Teshigawara oversaw not only the direction and choreography but also the designs and lighting and the production was reviewed as “aesthetic unity shines in bold staging” (Bachtrack).

The cast includes American countertenor Lawrence Zazzo and Australian soprano Valda Wilson. Dance plays an important role in this production, with four stunning dancers including Rihoko Sato and Alexandre Riabko.

This stream will be an opening of OperaVision’s World Opera Day Celebration 2022. As a special programme to celebrate World Opera Day on 25 October, OperaVision will stream four different operas based on the Orpheus story in the same month.

This will be a good opportunity to enjoy and compare Orpheus operas!
