In-Taek Yoo, President of Seoul Arts Center

In-Taek Yoo, President of Seoul Arts Center, took his office on 22 Mar 2019. Mr Yoo is well-known as a prominent producer of many successful theatre plays, dances, musicals and films, and also as CEO of Dongyang Arts Center. In his three-year term, he aims to enrich all SAC-presented performances and exhibitions by raising the state subsidy, closely cooperating with national and private art companies, and raising funds to help create new performances and exhibitions. He also hopes to expand exchanges with major performing arts centres in the Asia-Pacific region.

Yoo’s previous accomplishments include: successfully leading the Seoul Metropolitan Musical Theater as a General Director from 2012 to 2014; raising and investing funds for new productions of performances and films; conceiving and opening the first Chinese movie theatre inside Dongyang Arts Center, which contributed to enhancing the mutual understanding between China and Korea. He is a major figure in the Korean arts scene, winning several awards, including: Dae Jong Film Awards in 1996, Korean Culture and Arts Awards in 2007, and Max Movie Awards in 2008.

With his Bachelor’s Degree of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Master’s degree of Arts Management, he instructed students at Dongyang University and Kunjang University. Seoul Arts Center is excited to enter its 31st year as it prepares to become an incomparable leading arts centre in Korea with his leadership.
