The Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) has been officially awarded the ISO 9001:2015 Certification for the scope of the provision of arts education services, cultural exchange management, production and exhibition management, cultural content management, venue and asset management.

CCP President Arsenio J. Lizaso, Vice-President Rodolfo G. del Rosario and Artistic Director Chris B. Millado received the ISO certificate, valid for three years until 2022, after passing the global standard for its Quality Management System (QMS). The ISO certificate was issued by the Certification International Philippines, Inc., through its Chairman and President Renato V. Navarrete.

“Receiving the ISO certification is a significant and meaningful one for CCP and its employees because it symbolizes a long but successful journey for all who devoted many of their time to perfect the quality management system of the Center. This would mean that the QMS of CCP is now at par with international standards,” said CCP President Lizaso during the awarding rites in February 2020.

In 2017, the CCP embarked on this journey to enhance its competitiveness and meet the needs and expectations of Filipino artists, its various audiences and stakeholders. Being the leading institution for arts and culture in the Philippines, the CCP requested the assistance of the Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP) in adopting a quality management system that follows international standards.

For the past two years, the Center worked hard to implement internationally-recognised QMS standard while continuing to fulfill its mandate to preserve, develop and promote Philippine arts and culture.

After reviewing its existing controls and documenting its core operational processes, the Center adopted and enhanced its QMS documentation, tools, and practices, resulting in an improved process streamlining and rationalising documentary requirement.

“We are proud to be an ISO Certified Institution because this only proves that our management system, document procedures, processes, and services have passed the standards of quality that is recognised world-wide. I hope that all of us will value this recognition and ensure that the benefits of being an ISO-certified agency are achieved especially with regards to improving services to the public,” said CCP VP del Rosario.

Believing in the importance of consistency in government service in the arts sector, the CCP will continue to champion effective management and good governance in promoting artistic excellence, nurturing the broadest publics to participate in art making and appreciation, and envisioning to make the arts matter in the life of every Filipino.

“The CCP’s ISO certification is a testament to our commitment to consistently produce world-class productions and create valuable art education programs. It is also our promise to continuously improve the quality of services to the Filipino people,” said CCP artistic director Millado.
