Freespace brings performances at Lau Bak Livehouse to you via Facebook and Instagram Live!

Through Facebook LIVE and Instagram LIVE, West Kowloon Cultural District (“the District”) live-streamed music from Lau Bak Livehouse brings art to people who were at home, even people outside of Hong Kong could enjoy the performances. The show must go on!

Music LIVE from Lau Bak Livehouse to Celebrate the Season of Love

During the Spring Lantern Festival on 8 Feb 2020, also known as the Chinese Valentine’s, the band Café 852 rocked a passionate Argentinian Tango music set at 8pm, taking the audience to the vibrant and romantic streets of Buenos Aires. At 9:30pm, the local swing band The Nate Wong Quintet’s jazz music with a local twist grooved with the audience at Lau Bak Livehouse.

In 9 Feb 2020 afternoon, the District again brought the audience performances at Lau Bak Freespace Livehouse Music Live. Lau Bak Livehouse had two bands bringing audience the best of the worlds of jazz and folk! At 2:15pm, the duo Rebecca X Nazar showcased a unique pairing of cello and accordion with their experimental arrangements and diverse repertoire.

At 4pm, artistic musical duo Head Clowns mesmerised audience as they performed an eclectic mix of songs from Europe, Russia and Latin America with just a ukulele, clarinet and vocals.

Free Music LIVE from Lau Bak Livehouse in Valentine’s Day Weekend

On Valentine’s Day 14 Feb 2020 at 7:15pm, the District live-streamed EdU X BU, two of the freshest jazz bands from local universities. At 9 pm, local jazz legends Eugene Pao and Ted Lo joined Angelita Li & The Funny Valentines to take over the stage till late.

On Saturday 15 Feb 2020, HK Phil Wind Quintet opened the house at 4pm, followed by the electronica duo Club Fiasco who drew inspiration from the music of the 80s and 90s. Local young band Charming Way at 8:15pm charmed Indie fans with their raw sonic energy.

On Sunday 16 Feb 2020 at 3:30pm, local rising stars Alexander Wong and cellist Kai-Hei Chor performed a classical music set that gave audience a joyous afternoon.
