Flamenco Ballets Asian Tour

Flamenco Agency returns to AAPPAC as a new Business Circle member in 2022. The Agency will bring Granada Flamenco Ballet to Asia in September-October 2023 with confirmed performances in Thailand and two different shows, Carmen and Dance for Me. After performing more than 100 times its last show, Carmen, Granada Flamenco Ballet will première its new production, Dance for Me, at Cēsis Concert Hall in Latvia on 3 December 2022.

Flamenco Agency is a platform that promotes artists, shows and knowledge on the art of flamenco at an international level. The vision of Flamenco Agency is to elevate and place Flamenco within the highest category of the performing arts. We are specialised in the distribution of the best flamenco ballets in Spain, and consequently, in the world, presenting proposals of the highest artistic quality to international stages.

Granada Flamenco Ballet productions, Carmen and the new Dance for Me, are interdisciplinary performances that include flamenco, opera, dance, and music. Carmen is an adaptation of a classic and world-famous opera, which many people all around the world already know and love. Granada Flamenco Ballet’s interpretation remains true to the original in a variety of aspects, although it introduces a fresh new approach which is enthralling and emotional for all audiences.

Dance for Me changes the concept of “show”, finding a greater balance between music and dance. In this performance everything is focused on the movements which have been choreographed by the Spanish National Dance Awards Patricia Guerrero and Manuel Liñán. Around 30,000 people have already seen the last show of the company in at least 20 Asian cities. We would love to re-connect with the Asian audiences.

We believe it is an opportunity for AAPPAC members-centres to join the tour, taking advantage that we are already in Asia, in addition to increase exposure for flamenco artists, making our touring more sustainable. Since the pandemic put a hold on touring, we are very excited to get back to Asia starting in September 2022 with two performances in South Korea and by attending the Performing Arts Market Seoul (PAMS).

Furthermore, Flamenco Agency designs and distributes tours in a very meaningful ecological way, covering several locations and venues in the same country, improving both the conditions of art workers involved in touring and the social and economic sustainability. The Ballet is always open to workshops, masterclasses, etc.

Would you like to join the tour splitting the expenses of the tour? This is an opportunity because when we will tour Asia in September-October 2023, the production will be completed following the première this year in December 2022. We are seeking partners to expand the life of a work currently in development. Therefore, we are just looking for potential partnership between AAPPAC members-centres to join the Granada Flamenco Ballet 2023 Asian tour.
