Darwin’s premier live entertainment venue enters new era as AANT Centre

We are proud to share that we have entered into a new 10-year partnership with the Automobile Association of the Northern Territory (AANT). Darwin Entertainment Centre is now officially the AANT Centre – Darwin’s premier live entertainment venue.
This naming rights agreement brings together two iconic Territory organisations with a shared commitment to community, culture, and connection. Under this new partnership, AANT will support the Centre to expand its role as a cultural hub for the Northern Territory – delivering world-class entertainment, showcasing bold local talent, and creating unforgettable live experiences for Territorians and visitors alike, year-round.

AANT Centre Chief Executive Officer Georgia Hendy said the partnership marks a pivotal moment for the organisation.
“The AANT Centre is more than a name – it symbolises our joint commitment to enriching the Territory’s cultural lifestyle. This partnership helps ensure our long-term sustainability, while enabling us to continue delivering vibrant, inclusive and high-quality live performance experiences,” Hendy said.
AANT Chief Executive Officer Simon Matthias said the partnership reflects the organisation’s deep investment in the Territory and the communities it serves.
“AANT is proud to support a space that brings people together, sparks creativity and builds social connection. Just like the Centre, we’ve been part of the Territory’s story for decades – and we’re excited to now help shape its future. We see this as an investment in community, culture, and connection.”
While our name has changed, our purpose remains the same, and we will continue to present a wide-ranging programme of performances, festivals and community events, with the new name rolling out across signage, digital platforms, and communications in the weeks ahead.
Louise Potzeldt, General Manager of Darwin Symphony Orchestra, an Artist-in-Residence company at the Centre said, “At Darwin Symphony Orchestra, we know that creative excellence is only possible with strong foundations. As an Artist-in-Residence company, we directly benefit from the Centre’s vision to create a more resilient and better resourced cultural home for Territory artists. These partnerships not only strengthen the Centre’s capacity to present high-quality work but also ensure that local performance companies like ours can grow, experiment, and connect with wider audiences.”
Audiences will start to see the AANT Centre name rolled out across the venue, tickets, promotions, and digital platforms. But inside, the experience remains as welcoming and inspiring as ever – the same cherished venue at the heart of Darwin’s cultural life.
This new name signals more than just a change in branding. It represents a bold step forward for live entertainment in the Territory – anchored in community, driven by creativity, and powered by partnership.
