Hong Kong Arts Development Council welcomes new council members
The Hong Kong Arts Development Council (HKADC) has entered an exciting new chapter by welcoming its new Council membership on 1 Jan 2026. Under the continued stewardship of Chairman Mr Kenneth Fok, who has long been a dedicated advocate for the sports, arts and cultural sector, the newly appointed Council is well positioned to further strengthen and enrich Hong Kong’s arts ecosystem. We are equally thrilled to welcome Ms Pheon Tsang as the new Chief Executive of HKADC. With her extensive experience in public administration, Ms Tsang will support the new term of Council in implementing various development strategies, with a particular focus to strengthen Hong Kong’s role as an East-meets-West centre for international cultural exchange.
Over the past 30 years, HKADC has made tremendous efforts to improve its funding schemes, to support and nurture the development of local small and medium-sized arts groups and artists. Today, HKADC has evolved into a multifaceted organisation that drives and supports the holistic arts development in Hong Kong, bringing Hong Kong arts onto the international stage and further strengthening the city’s role as a hub for cultural exchange.

Bridging Global Arts Professionals
In support of the Hong Kong Government’s Blueprint for Arts and Culture and Creative Industries Development, the new Council is dedicated to formulate future development directives and strategies conducive to the professional growth of local artists and arts groups, and the development of arts, culture and creative industries in Hong Kong, further strengthening its role as an East-meets-West centre for international cultural exchange.
One of HKADC’s key missions is to foster global connections to unlock new opportunities. By establishing close ties with the Chinese Mainland and overseas counterparts, HKADC actively champions local arts practitioners, helping them seamlessly navigate overseas markets and promoting their works in the international arts arena.
Through years of efforts, Hong Kong has succeeded in forging close ties with arts organisations, art markets, and festivals worldwide. The inaugural Hong Kong Performing Arts Expo (HKPAX) held in Oct 2024 attracted over 1,600 arts leaders and practitioners from more than 60 regions, fostering the exchange between Hong Kong and its counterparts in the globe and positioning Hong Kong as a significant flagship platform in the global performing arts sector.
