LG Arts Center SEOUL has been committed to presenting high-caliber contemporary theatre in collaboration with Korean artists. This autumn, works co-produced through these creative partnerships are coming to fruition across the globe in a variety of compelling forms – capping a major world tour in New York (The Cherry Orchard), scaling up an internationally celebrated solo tour de force (Snow, Snow, Snow), and premiering an intimate classic adaptation (ANTI-PEOPLE).

LG Arts Center’s The Cherry Orchard Heads to New York’s Park Avenue Armory for Tour Finale

Building on the momentum of acclaimed runs across Busan, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Australia since its world premiere in 2024 at its home stage, LG Arts Center’s original production of The Cherry Orchard concludes its international tour with a strictly limited 11-performance run at New York’s Park Avenue Armory (16-26 Sep 2026).

Directed by Australian theatre and filmmaker Simon Stone, this reimagining transposes Anton Chekov’s classic into modern-day Korea. The production reunites its stellar premiere cast, led by Cannes-winning actress Jeon Do-yeon and internationally recognized Netflix star Park Hae-soo. Presenting the pinnacle of contemporary Korean stagecraft in the heart of New York, The Cherry Orchard brings its triumphant international run since 2024 to a grand finale.

Snow, Snow, Snow Returns in Grand Scale Following Acclaim at Festival d’Avignon

Lee Jaram holds a singular position in the international performing arts scene, celebrated for adapting Western literary classics such as Hemingway and Brecht into pansori, the Korean musical storytelling tradition, carrying entire narratives single-handedly.

Co-produced by LG Arts Center SEOUL and premiered in 2025, Snow, Snow, Snow toured nationally before taking the stage this summer in the official selection of Festival d’Avignon, “capturing the audience with a single glance (Libération)”. Blending Tolstoy’s 19th-century novella Master and Man with traditional Korean vocal storytelling, Lee crafts a gripping, resonant allegory for contemporary audiences. This Oct, Snow, Snow, Snow scales up from 360-seat U+ Stage to the 1,300-seat LG SIGNATURE Hall, offering a monumental encore promising an entirely renewed sense of theatrical scale and emotional depth as it prepares to connect with even wider audiences worldwide.

World Premiere of Yangson Project’s ANTI-PEOPLE, a Minimalistic Retake of An Enemy of People

In Nov, acclaimed theatre collective Yangson Project presents the world premiere of its latest work, ANTI-PEOPLE, co-produced with LG Arts Center. An adaptation of Henrik Ibsen’s An Enemy of People, the work is the second chapter of a three-year collaborative Ibsen trilogy with LG Arts Center following 2025’s Ghosts, which drew wide critical praise for stripping away period décor and capturing the raw, gripping essence of the drama.

Led by three actors and one director working through a tight-knit co-creation process, Yangson Project maximizes the presence and craft of its performers with minimalist staging, penetrating directly to the core of dramatic tension. This staging invites the audience to discover an inventive, highly adaptable theatrical language that resonates universally across borders.
