Discover the Artistry of the National Ballet of Japan

As the new 2026/2027 season approaches, the National Ballet of Japan is preparing to welcome audiences to another year of ambitious productions, new artistic collaborations and inspiring performances at New National Theatre Tokyo (NNTT).

For those who are curious about what happens beyond the stage, we are pleased to share The Making of a Ballet: Behind the Scenes of The Nutcracker by the National Ballet of Japan with AAPPAC members.

The film takes you inside the creative process behind our production of The Nutcracker, offering an intimate look at rehearsals, stage preparations and the many people who work behind the scenes to bring a ballet to life. From the dancers and choreographers to the designers, technicians and ballet staff, discover the remarkable collaboration and dedication that lies behind every performance.

If you have the opportunity to be in Tokyo over the holiday season, we would be delighted to welcome you to the Opera Palace at NNTT for a live performance of The Nutcracker, running from 18 Dec 2026 to 3 Jan 2027.  Why not make Tokyo part of your holiday season and experience the magic of The Nutcracker with the National Ballet of Japan.
