About SIFA
As Singapore’s annual pinnacle performing arts festival, the Singapore International Festival of Arts (SIFA) presents captivating and diverse works across theatre, music, dance, film and visual arts. First launched as the Singapore Festival of Arts in 1977, the festival has gone through several evolutions and inspired generations of arts lovers and practitioners. Today, the highly anticipated festival is a high point on Singapore’s arts and cultural calendar. SIFA continues its festival mission to champion the creation and presentation of Singaporean and international works.
SIFA 2024: THE ANATOMY OF PERFORMANCE – THEY DECLARE
By intertwining the threads of ecological harmony and diverse voices, SIFA 2024 homes in on an evocative pronouncement They declare – an invitation to take in other voices, existences and geologies, human and other-than-human, recognising our co-existence with the natural environment and making space for different beliefs and ways of being.
Highlights include the spectacular MOBY DICK with 50 puppets, the festival commission SUARA/ORO RUA inspired by Maori culture, THE ROMEO, a speculative style of dance that uncovers histories, the identity-exploring multimedia show ANGELA (a strange loop) and award-winning SUN & SEA featuring an on-stage beach!
Little SIFA welcomes families with LEONARDO! A WONDERFUL SHOW ABOUT A TERRIBLE MONSTER an enchanting puppet show, and THE DANCER’S FAIR a fun-filled fairground.
