SCCC celebrates Chinese New Year in the heart of the city

Co-organised by Singapore Chinese Culture Centre (SCCC) and Singapore Chinese Orchestra, the annual Chinese New Year Family Fun (CNYFF) is back! From 17 – 19 Jan, CNYFF will be offering 22 family-friendly programmes ranging from a Sssurprise CNY rooftop installation, a zodiac predictions exhibition, a bazaar, an orchestra concert, workshops, performances, free arts and craft activities, and more!

SCCC launches new public service videos with local Chinese opera troupes

SCCC partnered five local Chinese opera troupes (Chinese Opera Studio, Tang Renaissance, Opera Works Singapore, Chinese Opera Ensemble and Tian Yun Beijing Opera Society) to disseminate public service messages through a series of light-hearted videos. There are a total of five short videos, each featuring excerpts adapted from existing Chinese opera scripts and ending with a public service message that SCCC co-curated with participating public sector agencies.  

The first video was released on 21 Nov 2024, and subsequent videos will be released monthly (till Mar 2025) on SCCC’s social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, WeChat and Xiaohongshu).

SCCC offers new wellness programmes for working adults in the Central Business District

Targeted at working adults, Wellness in the City is SCCC’s new suite of programmes which seeks to promote positive physical and mental well-being. There are a total of three programmes co-curated by the centre and three local arts and cultural groups: RuanAtWorkz, SAtheCollective, and Drum Feng, and these programmes range from relaxing sound baths and transformative vibrational healing held during lunchtime and drumming workouts held after work.
