As we celebrate Singapore’s 60th anniversary of independence, Singapore International Festival of Arts (SIFA) 2025 is set to take place from 16 May – 1 Jun 2025. SIFA, as Singapore’s annual pinnacle performing arts festival, is committed to nurturing homegrown talent and championing Singapore’s arts both at home and internationally. This milestone year will see us expand beyond conventional stages, with programmes designed to engage diverse communities, proudly bringing Singapore’s performing arts to the fore in a momentous year.

SIFA 2025 reflects Singapore’s cultural identity and global outlook with outstanding international works alongside a diverse line up of local artists, commissioned to create exciting new works. With diverse programming that caters to audiences from all walks of life, the highly anticipated festival is a high point on Singapore’s arts and cultural calendar that promises a fulfilling arts experience for everyone.

To commemorate this journey and its milestones, SIFA 2025 also presents a series of conversations with important cultural personalities exploring the nation’s artistic evolution since the Singapore Arts Festival started in 1977, positioning SIFA as a dynamic platform for the exchange of knowledge and discourse.

Golden Point Award 2025

Open call for submissions

Singapore’s premier creative writing competition, the Golden Point Award (GPA), returns with its 17th edition this year. Organised by Arts House Limited (AHL), GPA 2025 welcomes submissions in the Short Story and Poetry categories in Singapore’s four official languages: English, Chinese, Malay, and Tamil as well as a Translation: Short Story category in English, which was first introduced in the previous edition to recognise literary translation excellence and increase accessibility to Singapore’s rich multilingual literary landscape. Interested applicants may submit their entries online from 3 Mar – 12 May 2025 by 6pm.

Submit your original short story, poem or translated work and stand a chance to win the grand prize of $6,000 cash and a mentorship programme! The competition is open only to individuals who, at time of application, have yet to publish a solo work in the specific genre in which they are competing. Writers whose works have been published in journals or anthologies (whether online or in print) are eligible to enter.

The annual children’s multilingual literary arts festival Monstrous Fun! @ The Arts House returns from 30 – 31 May 2025 with imaginative arts and craft activities inspired by homegrown stories, bilingual storytelling sessions and more. Monstrous Fun! @ The Arts House invites families to embark on a literary adventure and let their imaginations run free in the fantastical world of children’s stories. Families can expect a wide range of captivating literary-based programmes in English, Chinese, Malay and Tamil for children aged 3-12 years at The Arts House at Old Parliament.

Goodman Open House

The annual Goodman Open House on 28 Jun 2025 is a day of fun-filled programmes across different art forms such as music, dance and visual arts for all ages at Goodman Arts Centre, Singapore’s largest arts enclave! The Clock Tower Climb
