Dewan Filharmonik PETRONAS (DFP), located in the middle of the PETRONAS Twin Towers, opens its doors to welcome patrons and music lovers to a dazzling new season in 2026. This season will witness many exciting concert presentations that will cater to a diverse range of tastes and preferences.

First, sit back and enjoy the screening of Amadeus, the multi-Academy Award winning film produced in 1984 which tells the incredible story of composer Mozart, in-sync with the music accompaniment of the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO). This unique music offering is slated on 10 Jan under the baton of Benjamin Pope. The movie screening will be enhanced with the Malaysian Voices Collective Choir.

Cirque de la Symphonie returns to DFP; a popular MPO trademark concert presented for the fifth time. In this latest instalment, the cirque concert will be presented twice on 17 Jan. The first concert is scheduled under the Family Fun Day series, a light-hearted one-hour showcase suitable for children and family alike. Another concert will be presented in the evening featuring a two-hour daring choreography and visual spectacular accompanied by classical music by Berlioz, Verdi and Strauss, leaving you breathless! Both concerts will be helmed by Tengku Irfan, a Malaysian conductor/composer who has made his mark in the USA.

Another movie screening is happening this month: Madu Tiga, a popular and evergreen film directed by national icon P Ramlee will set the bar high as a creative way to enjoy this classic motion picture. The MPO will be led by Ahmad Muriz Che Rose on 24 Jan.

The magic of Mozart returns on 27 Jan to coincide with his 270^th birthday. Violinist Peter Danis will lead this concert which will feature the composer’s tantalizing works such as Overture Marriage of Figaro, Sinfonia Concertante for Violin and Viola (featuring violist Jebat Arjuna Kee) and Symphony No.29 in A, a fitting tribute to one of history’s greatest composers.

Feb opens with a concert themed Memoirs of a Floral Fantasy to be led by MPO Music Director, Junichi Hirokami on 7 Feb. Be swept away with lyrical colours and nature-inspired beauty composed by Yoshimatsu: White Landscapes and Piano Concerto Memo Flora (featuring the talented young Japanese pianist Yukine Kuroki). The concert will culminate with Rachmaninov’s powerful Symphony No.3.
