Opera Peking by Shanghai Jingju Theatre Company

In the Peking opera of Sizhou City, Lady of Hongqiao Jellyfish transformed into a human figure and met Bai Tingxun on the street. They fell in love with each other at first sight and got married, taking a pearl as the token of love. Lady Jellyfish flooded the city and violated the commandments of Heaven, thus Er-lang God led the soldiers to capture her.

In Chisang Town of the Northern Song Dynasty, Bao Zheng was ordered by the Emperor to distribute grain in Chenzhou.  He later executed death penalty on his greedy nephew Bao Mian in the town of Chisang. He ordered the guard named Wang Chao to write a letter in the city of Hefei informing the incident to Wu Miaozhen, his sister-in-law and the mother of Bao Mian. Wu was so angry and sad at the sight of the letter that she rushed to Chisang Town to blame Bao Zheng as a betrayer.

Another Peking opera named Zhu Sha Yi (ie. vermilion birthmark), also known as Tian Jia Qilin (the kylin sent by the god) and Has Sire A Boy By Charity, produced by Yuzhi, a literati in the late Qing Dynasty, which was an uncommon script written and signed by literati in the early days of Peking Opera.

She graduated from the first Chinese Peking Opera Outstanding Young Actor Postgraduate Course. She is And is the disciple of Zhang Meijuan, Lu Wenqin, Li Yuru, Yu Yonghua, and etc. Her representative works include Shu San Niang and Wang Ying and Palm Civet for Prince. She has won awards such as Plum Performance Award, Outstanding Performance Award of the National Youth Peking Opera Actor TV Contest and the National March 8th Red-banner Pace-setter.

The play is adapted from the popular long-form classical novel Three Heroes and Five Gallants, which continues the chivalrous spirit of the original work by depicting various characters and interlocking plots by rich artistic means of Peking Opera. Familiar characters, such as Bai Yutang, Zhan Zhao, Lu Fang, Jiang Ping, Bao Zheng appeared on the stage one after another.

All Quiet in Peking was adapted from Liu Heping’s novel of the same name. In the decisive battle between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party on the eve of the liberation of Peiping, the safety of the people’s livelihood was ignored by the Kuomintang government and the elite family who were greedy and busy plundering. For the peaceful liberation of the ancient city of Peiping, underground members of the Chinese Communist Party like Xie Peidong and Fang Mengao risked their lives dealing with the enemy and finally ushered in the victory of the revolution.

Lumina Coeli – Girls Choir of France is one of the oldest chorus group in Europe. Since the Middle Ages, the musical tradition of the chorus has never stopped, which is inherited by generations of children singing in the ancient artistic manner of the 7th century. It allows us to follow the tradition of children’s choirs since the 7th century to explore the sounds from Heaven that were originally intended only for bishops and cathedrals.
