Refresh, Rekindle, Respark at the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre

The Cultural Extravaganza is back! Aptly themed “Refresh Rekindle Respark!”, this year’s festival gathers the public again for a month-long celebration of cultural showcases after a hiatus in 2020. Here are some of the key highlights you can look forward to.   

Like previous instalments, this year’s Cultural Extravaganza will provide the opportunity to present new works that showcase the distinctiveness of Chinese Singaporean arts and culture. Following the popularity of Masters of Comedy 2018, a musical production commissioned by Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre as a tribute to iconic comedians in Singapore, the new Masters of Comedy 2021 will make a comeback with as a light-hearted show on how three modern elites with no knowledge about Chinese dialects and traditional culture learn them from scratch, with a lot of laughter in between!  

Not forgetting the other crowd favourites – local Mandopop concerts by homegrown talents through Sing.Lang and a special edition of TGIF Music Station which promises a star-studded line-up each year. One can expect to be surprised by new formats leveraging cross-disciplinary artforms, such as interactive art experience Odyssey, contemporary dance PAN, and Jazz It Up concert. The Centre will be featuring Chinese Singaporean culture with a variety of activities including online market, workshops, film screening, orchestra performances and exhibitions.
