Have you ever wondered how famous Singaporean dishes like Char Kway Teow or Hokkien Mee came about?
Adapted from its popular SINGAPO人 permanent exhibition, SCCC has developed The Secret Ingredients travelling exhibition to bring its content into shopping malls across the country. Visitors take on the role of a “detective” to uncover the hidden cultural origins and influences behind eight popular local dishes.

After making its first stop at Waterway Point, the exhibition will travel across the island, stopping at various shopping malls, libraries, and community centres.

You can now visit SCCC’s SINGAPO人 exhibition from the comfort of your own home!
Packed with games, videos, and fun facts, SINGAPO人 Online invites the public to embark on an immersive journey to discover what it means to be a Chinese Singaporean. Across seven different chapters, visitors will learn more about the local Chinese history, values, festivals, phrases, food, and craft through curiosity and play.

The interactive site also serves as an online resource hub on Chinese Singaporean culture and complements the physical SINGAPO人 exhibition with more detailed information about the themes in the exhibition. Featuring in-depth articles and informative videos on Chinese Singaporean identity and culture, the site is an extensive one-stop guide to all things Chinese Singaporean.

Celebrating And Re-Presenting Chinese Singaporean Culture

Cultural Extravaganza is an annual festival that represents and re-presents Chinese Singaporean culture. It offers an exciting line-up of programmes by the best of Singapore’s Chinese arts and cultural groups. In conjunction with SCCC’s 5th Anniversary, this year’s Cultural Extravaganza will present a series of cross-disciplinary, cross-cutural and cross-generational programmes. These include a xinyao musical Shadow Moon, a site-specific production Windward Side of the Mountains and a special exhibition that features about 100 paintings and calligraphic works found in the collections of Chinese clans in Singapore.
