Aichi Prefectural Art Theater’s 2023-2024 Season

In the 2023-2024 season (from April 2023 to March 2024), the Aichi Prefectural Art Theater (APAT) will present wide variety of programmes that everyone can enjoy in a safe and secure manner.

In Main Theater, APAT will present a new performance by our Artistic Director Teshigawara, a classical ballet masterpiece, Don Quixote by the National Ballet of Japan, and Revisor by the dance company led by Crystal Pite. In Concert Hall, there will be a subscription concert by the NHK Symphony Orchestra, Tokyo, and a special organ concert by Matthias Maierhofer whose performances are highly acclaimed at overseas music festivals.

Following last year, Family Programme in Golden Week holidays (in May) and summer vacation (in July and August) includes Open House that will offer free tours of the Concert Hall, popular introductory organ concerts, The Organ Night & Day 2023, and the Australian artist group The Last Great Hunt with a story about friendships between a puppy and the people he meets in New Owner. Not only at APAT but also within the prefectural tours, there are many programmes that will make it easier for families to come to the theatre.

Year-round cutting-edge Mini Theater Selection series will feature the 21st AAF Drama Award Winning Commemorative Performance and a collaborative project with Dance Base Yokohama (DaBY) that develops professional dance environments and trains creators.

In addition, APAT will promote a project called Theatre and 70,000 Children Project that invites local students to visit the theatre, programmes that raises awareness of multicultural communities and learning for foreign residents; and programmes of HR development that helps both staff and artists gain newer and higher skills.
