Spotlighting the Distinctiveness of Chinese Singaporean Culture Through An Exciting Lineup of Programmes

Mark your calendar for an array of programmes presented by Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre (SCCC), which will delight you in the distinctive aspects of our Chinese Singaporean culture. 

(Re)presenting Culture Across Every Generation

Cultural Extravaganza is SCCC’s signature annual festival which showcases the vibrancy of Chinese Singaporean culture through an exciting line-up of programmes jointly put together with some of our best local Chinese arts and cultural groups. First introduced in 2017 along with the opening of the SCCC, the festival represents traditional art and culture in new formats, highlighting the crossovers between disciplines, cultures and generations. 

The 6th edition of Cultural Extravaganza will take place from 12 May to 18 June 2023. Audiences can look forward to 12 onsite programmes including performances, concerts, talks, an exhibition and a film. Key highlights include a multi-ethnic performance incorporating Chinese Ruan music, Indian dance, Cantonese opera, and electronic music, a theatre play about Xinyao and an innovative musical that blends Chinese pop music with Teochew opera.
