VIKTORIA MULLOVA Violin Recital

One of the world’s greatest violin virtuosos, Viktoria Mullova‘s musical horizons continue to expand. She has journeyed into the world of jazz and world music, she works regularly with ensembles such as Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, Il Giardino Armonico, Accademia Bizantina and Venice Baroque. Each season features  top international orchestras and conductors.

Maisky Trio Concert

Maisky has the reputation of being the only cellist in the world to have studied with both Mstislav Rostropovich and Gregor Piatigorsky. Rostropovich has lauded Mischa Maisky as “… one of the most outstanding talents of the younger generation of cellists. His playing combines poetry and exquisite delicacy with great temperament and brilliant technique.”

Jörg Demus Piano Recital

Jörg Demus received his first piano lessons at the age of six and was accepted by the Vienna State Academy of Music when he was 11. Besides the regular High School, he studied piano with Walter Kerschbaumer, organ with Karl Walter, conducting with Joseph Krips and composition with Joseph Marx. After completing these studies in Vienna, he went abroad to study with Yves Nat in Paris, then with Walter Gieseking in Saarbrücken, later with Wilhem Kempff and Arturo Benedetti-Michelangeli.

Lilya Zilberstein Piano Recital

Lilya Zilberstein got her first taste of international success in 1987 when she won the Busoni Competition in Bolzano. Her victory was a sensation – it took five years until the first prize was even awarded again. By 1988, the Moscow-born pianist was able to perform at big tours abroad in the West. Travelling for her concerts took her to almost all of the European countries, Mexico, Japan, Korea, Canada and Brazil.

The Berliner Philharmoniker, founded in 1882 as a self-governing body, has long been esteemed as one of the world’s greatest orchestras.

Hans von Bülow, Arthur Nikisch and Wilhelm Furtwängler were the principal conductors who left their distinctive mark in the Berliner Philharmoniker’s early decades. In 1955, Herbert von Karajan became the orchestra’s artistic director and, in the ensuing years, worked with the musicians to develop a unique tonal quality and performing style that made the Berliner Philharmoniker famous all over the world. Claudio Abbado, chief conductor from 1989 to 2002, devised a new type of programming, with increased emphasis on contemporary works, expanded chamber recital series and operas in concert performance. When Sir Simon Rattle took the orchestra’s helm in September 2002, the Education Programme was initiated to ensure that the Berliner Philharmoniker reaches a wider and, especially, younger audience. In November 2007, the orchestra and its artistic director Sir Simon Rattle were appointed UNICEF Goodwill Ambassadors, the first artistic ensemble ever to represent the international children’s organisation.

Tomomi Nishimoto and IlluminArt Philharmonic Orchestra 2019 New Year Concert

Nishimoto lead the Illuminart Philharmonic at the Vatican Music Festival with a restoration performance of the oratio, the chant and prayers of the Kakure Kirishitan (secret Christians) in Japan back in 1630s. This made Nishimoto the youngest recipient ever of such honour.
