Montreal-based arts management agency Latitude 45 Arts is delighted to announce the activities of a few of their artists’ upcoming tours in the Asia-Pacific region.

In the eclectic musical universe of Ensemble Kamaan, borders are abolished to make way for a bewitching alchemy through the mystical conversation between Amir Amiri’s santur, Showan Tavakol’s kamancheh, Behnaz Sohrabi‘s Rabab, and Olivier Marin‘s viola. Ensemble Kamaan will be presenting a special concert in Hong Kong in early January at the invitation of the Leisure and Culture Services Department of Hong Kong, in their One Belt, One Road series. Entitled Iranian Alchemy, the concert will feature special guest Shraddha Blaney, dervish, performing traditional dance. A workshop exploring the history and meaning of this music will precede the concert at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre on 11 Jan and the concert will take place the next day, 12 Jan, at the Hong Kong City Hall Theatre.

Later in the spring of 2019, Eve Egoyan, piano will be touring eastern and western Australia with her new programme SOLO FOR DUET. Using a disklavier, a fully digitally interfaced acoustic concert piano, Solo for Duet is a deeply integrated virtuosic mix of sound, image, and unspoken narrative challenging traditional conceptions of piano and pianist. Egoyan will be presenting the programme, as well as workshops and educational programmes around SOLOFOR DUET at the Canberra International Music Festival, Tura New, Monash University, and in Wollogong at the Illawara Performing Arts Center in the second half of May.
