Voices – A Festival of Song 2019

Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay (Singapore) presents the seventh edition of Voices – A Festival of Song, a music festival that celebrates the art of ensemble singing, traditional and contemporary alike. Running from 6 to 8 Dec, the annual three-day festival is the largest gathering of multi-form singing. Featuring a variety of vocal styles including choral, a cappella, musical theatre, classical singing, jazz and more, the vocal festival invites people to connect with one another through the shared experience of song.

Voices 2018 – Lasalle Musical Theatre

Besides the ticketed workshops, the programmes at Voices are free for all to enjoy, with local youth ensembles, community choirs, winners of a cappella championships of the region and more. As the largest gathering of multi-form singing, Voices features a wide range of forms and styles such as classical, folk, pop and stylised singing, celebrating different types of vocal music for everyone’s enjoyment.

Voices 2018 – Chorus Singalong (Concert Hall)

In addition to treating audiences to inspiring ensembles and introducing them to a diversity of vocal styles, talks and workshops of different levels will be held at the festival. The ever-popular singalong sessions will also be held throughout the festival at various venues. These sessions are specially curated for different kinds of festival attendees: from the young who can’t help but belt out their favourite cartoon theme songs, to seniors who enjoy reminiscing the good old days with evergreens, and many others.

Voices 2018 – FVS, Psalmideo Chorale, Vocablends ft Conchords

As part of Esplanade’s community engagement efforts, a group of youths from a tertiary institution will be given an opportunity to experience the festival’s activities and an exclusive look behind the scenes at Esplanade’s venues.
