2019 Camping Asia
Co-organised by the Taipei Performing Arts Center (TPAC) and the Centre National de la Danse (CND), the inaugural edition of Camping Asia will be held in Taipei from 18 to 29 Nov.
Camping Asia brings together visual and performing artists and arts schools from across Asia and beyond to celebrate the interdisciplinary knowledge and cross-cultural contexts for the generation next. Through a two-week programme, various workshops, symposiums and performances will open up opportunities for young talents from around the world to exchange ideas and practices.
The programme will include:
Morning Class
The classes are held every morning, the guest schools will have the opportunity to conduct the morning class for all the participants, providing everyone with a chance to discover the teaching methods and sources of inspiration of the diverse establishments present at Camping Asia this year.

School Marathon
In this veritable marathon, the schools invited to take part in Camping Asia will have an opportunity to present their work to the public. Bringing different pedagogical approaches into the field of performance, the schools will be able to showcase their philosophies.

Workshop
Since we consider this to offer the best insight into an artist’s working method, we believe that it is important to place workshops at the center of the event. Dedicated to students and professional artists, a workshop consists of a set of seven sessions taught Tuesday to Friday by a guest artist.

Performance
A place of intense artistic experimentation for both creators and the public, Camping Asia will feature shows and performances in numerous sites in Taipei.
