Dewan Filharmonik Petronas: Exciting Concerts Await you in Quarter 2 of 2026

Dewan Filharmonik PETRONAS (DFP), located in the middle of the PETRONAS Twin Towers, continues to dazzle its patrons and music lovers with an array of exciting concerts. The Quarter 2 of 2026 will witness concert presentations that cater to a diverse range of tastes and preferences. 

Izen Kong & Janet Lee

The Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO) will present a concert themed Symphony of Memories – A Journey Through Mandarin Classics on 28 Mar. To be led by Hong Kong-born maestro Francis Kan, the MPO will merge its symphonic artistry with an era-defining Mandarin pop in a programme that includes Night After Night, Autumn Cicada, My Heart Is An Open Book and a thrilling crossover work of Bizet’s Carmen. This concert will feature vocalists Izen Kong, Janet Lee, Layla Sania and Daniel Cheah.  

Experience an unforgettable cinematic magic with the MPO in two concerts themed Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban In Concert on 2 – 3 Apr. To be led by Gerard Salonga, relive the nostalgia by enjoying the blockbuster once again in a different dimension with music accompaniment by the MPO.  

Belle Sisoski

Next, Sarawak-born multi-instrumentalist Belle Sisoski takes centrestage to collaborate with the MPO in a pioneering concert that weaves orchestral music, traditional instruments and the energy of EDM (electronic dance music). Witness the MPO’s bold step of stretching its versatility on 11 Apr in an innovative programme that reimagines cultural soundscapes where a sonic revolution rooted in heritage and propelled by daring experimentation. Gerard Salonga will lead this concert.  

Michael Schonheit

The MPO returns to its classical roots to present a concert on 18 Apr. To be led by Jörg-Peter Weigle, the concert will witness the MPO’s collaboration with Tokyo Symphony Orchestra. The programme will present Dupré’s Cortége et Litanie, Liszt’s iconic Variations on Bach, Bruckner’s Symphony No. 4 and the romantic Rheinberger’s Organ Concerto No.1 in F (featuring organist Michael Schönheit). 

MPO Music Director Junichi Hirokami returns to the DFP podium to lead the MPO in a concert themed An Evening Of Verdi on 25 Apr. A spectacular offering that captures the heart and soul of Verdi’s operatic prowess, the MPO will bring soaring arias and festive choruses taken from La Traviata and Rigoletto so be ready to be swept away!   

Another unmissable film concert awaits you this quarter; concerts themed Star Wars – A New Hope In Concert are scheduled on 3 – 4 May. To be led by Gerard Salonga, be enthralled in a cinematic splendour via the screening of the 1977 blockbuster with music accompaniment by the MPO.  

Shila Amzah

Popular local singer Shila Amzah who has achieved an international superstardom in China will bring her fans on a music journey in a concert themed Resonance: Shila Amzah In Harmony – 25 Years Of Music & Memories accompanied by her band. Celebrate an exceptional music career with a genre-spanning vocal artistry and multilingual repertoire on 9 May.

Popular violinist Charles Yang returns to perform with the MPO after an exhilarating debut last year at DFP. This time around, he will weave his classical virtuosity with pop and jazz. The concert will be led by Gerard Salonga on 16 May. Expect timeless favourites such as Blackbird, Somewhere Over The Rainbow and Fly Me To The Moon, alongside Piazzolla’s Oblivion and Monti’s Czardas. This concert will also feature the musicianship of pianist Peter Dugan.  

Alasdair Malloy

Family and children are welcomed to join the MPO in a fun, light-hearted concert themed The Incredible Voyage Of Alasdair Malloy on 23 May. This collaboration with innovative presenter Alasdair Malloy is the MPO’s continuous initiative to inculcate an appreciation towards classical music. Embark on a musical trip from Scotland to Kuala Lumpur through songs taken from movies such as Moana, Pirates Of The Caribbean and Aladdin. Local MPO conductor Jebat Arjuna Kee will lead this adventurous musical voyage.
