Introducing outer/most: an independent agency with a curated roster bringing World-Class Artists to Asia
Founded in Jan 2020, outer/most was established to represent artists who are not just leaders in their respective fields but are trailblazers redefining what live music can be. The agency has built a distinguished reputation by connecting extraordinary talent with presenters and promoters who share the commitment to excellence while embracing the ever-evolving landscape of global touring with intention and care.
As a new member of AAPPAC, outer/most are thrilled to be introduced to this community and to share some exciting updates from the roster: this fall, outer/most brings two monumental Asia tours to life, featuring two of the most celebrated and groundbreaking musicians today – the legendary sitarist and composer Anoushka Shankar, and one of modern jazz’s most innovative bassists, Christian McBride. These tours are indicative of the agency’s mission to support world-class artistry, foster meaningful cultural exchange, and bring the kind of live experiences that stay with audiences forever onto stages around the world.

More on Anoushka Shankar
Only a few artists in the world carry the depth of legacy and originality that Anoushka Shankar brings to every performance. A 13-time GRAMMY® nominee, Shankar has spent her career shattering barriers and expanding the boundaries of what Indian classical music can sound like on a global stage. At just eighteen years old, she became the youngest person and first woman ever to receive a British House of Commons Shield. It is a testament to the power of her impact at an extraordinarily young age. She is also an Ivor Novello Award winner for her acclaimed A Suitable Boy soundtrack, an Honorary Member of the Royal Academy of Music, and holds the historic distinction of being the first Indian musician ever to perform live or serve as a presenter at the GRAMMY® Awards, as well as the first Indian woman ever nominated.
This Oct, Anoushka will grace some of Asia’s most iconic stages, including Esplanade Concert Hall, Plenary Hall, Shanghai Oriental Arts Centre, and Xinghai Concert Hall, among others performing her work from her three newly-released mini-albums Chapter I: Forever, For Now, Chapter II: How Dark it Is Before Dawn and Chapter III: Return To Light, alongside thoroughly shaken-up, reinterpreted gems from her previous releases including the Grammy-nominated live album Between Us…
The quintet, representing the very best of the thriving London music scene, includes clarinetist Arun Ghosh, drummer-composer Sarathy Korwar, and bassist Tom Farmer.
Premiered in India in Dec 2022, this band has been hailed as one of the best ensembles to have toured with Anoushka across her 30-year global performing career. The energy and camaraderie on stage are unmatched as Shankar leads the way in pioneering a new sound through inventive arrangements, sensitive virtuosity and a neoclassical approach to the music tradition to which she belongs.

Christian McBride
11-time GRAMMY® winner, Christian McBride has spent decades making his mark as a dynamic performer, a prolific composer, arranger, and producer, and one of the most respected cultural curators and educators in modern jazz music today. A prolific bandleader, McBride’s multiple ensembles are each distinctive extensions of his tremendous command of the bass and threshold of creative inspiration, which span and synthesize straight-ahead, experimental, free-leaning jazz, funk, soul, Latin, hip hop and rhythm of blues.
Since the mid-2000s, McBride has taken on an ever-growing role as a leading ambassador for jazz, helping to shape some of the most prestigious programmes in the world and champion the art form for the next generation. His ensembles are each a distinct expression of his seemingly limitless creative vision, and his celebrated group Ursa Major is no exception.
This fall, McBride & Ursa Major will bring that vision to Japan for an unforgettable run of performances, including three nights at the legendary Blue Note Tokyo, an appearance at the renowned Kanazawa Jazz Street Festival and a stop at Billboard Live Osaka.
