ADAM – Asia Discovers Asia Meeting for Contemporary Performance

A new artist-focused network for international collaboration

Taipei Performing Arts Center, a new theatre devoted to contemporary art and performance, is launching ADAM – Asia Discovers Asia Meeting for Contemporary Performance, from 24 to 27 Aug. Registration is now open for professionals at http://www.tpac-taipei.org/.

Components include:
1) Artist Lab – 20 artists from various disciplines from across the Asia-Pacific region are invited to a two-week residency, in which they work thematically and collectively, forming ideas for future collaboration. At the end of the Lab, there will be presentations for ADAM participants.

Chikara Fujiwara (JP), Ding-Yun Huang (TW), Deepak Kurki Shivaswamy (IN),
I-Fang Lin (TW/FR), Kuan-Hsiang Liu (TW), Leeroy New (PH), Carly Sheppard (AU), Moe Satt (MM), Scarlet Yu (HK/DE), and more.

2) Studio Presentations – A selection of work-in-progress presentations and lecture-performances will be presented.

Projects involved: (in alphabetical order)
Body Tradition by Pichet Klunchun (TH) x Wu-Kang Chen (TW),
Dance Clinic by Choy Ka Fai (SG),
Made in China? by Shu-Yi Chou (TW), and more.

3) Symposium & Meetings – Panel discussions will be held, on Asian artistic and industrial development, moderated by delegates from the Asia-Pacific region.

There will be an opportunity to attend performances, which are held at the time as part of Taipei Arts Festival.
